Boy's Best Friend

We attended the farm show this weekend, therefore the next week's post will focus on this annual event. This year celebrates the 93th year of the Pennsylvania Farm Show, held in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. There is so much to see that it would take several days to view it all. The thousands that attend daily make it difficult to capture good photos, making it all that much more of a challange. This young man alllowed me to photograph him with is Texas Longhorn. I believe it was real love for them.

Photography is my relaxing hobby and provides me with inspiration about the beauty that surrounds each and every one of us, never take it for granted! If you like my photos please comment and let me know what I need to do to improve myself, definitely room for that....

Perhaps he is torn between wanting to win the show with his animal but really hoping he doesn't since he would have to part with his friend. Great shot with lots of emotion Denise!

@Bill: HI Bill, I am not sure if these animals are auctioned off at the end or not. This was a whole isle of longhorns, this young man was sitting with his girl. They were quite comfy together. They looked alot nicer than the ones I posted from my backyard a few months ago....

@Bernard: Thank you for your comment, this is such a fun show to visit, too bad is gets so crowded. It is exhausting for the farmers who bring their livestock, little sleep and alot of work, but they just love it!

@JTF: Certainly would not want to get poked with one of those.... This animal was very gentle toward her master.

What affection this shows... I agree with EWS....those horns would make me nervous though...thanks for watching for my son...they didn't show it on tv only in the stadium. What a bummer! :(

@Mary: They had a set of horns mounted for visitors to view and touch, they were beautifully polished, but also at eye level of youngster's eyes. The ends were really sharp, worried the "mom" in me. Did you get a chance to see your son last weekend at home at all?
